Relay Logics — SMS Notification Policy
What this program is
Relay Logics (relaylogics.com) is an incident-alerting platform for engineering teams. SMS messages from Relay Logics are operational alerts about production incidents — for example, a server outage detected by a team's monitoring — sent exclusively to that team's own on-call responders. Relay Logics sends no marketing, promotional, or third-party messages of any kind.
A typical message: [P1] Payments API: DB connection pool exhausted — ack: https://relaylogics.com/a/…
Message frequency varies with incident activity and each user's own notification rules; typical volume is a few messages per week. Message and data rates may apply.
How people opt in
Phone numbers only ever receive alerts after a double opt-in performed by the number's owner:
- The user signs in to their team's Relay Logics dashboard and opens Settings → Contact methods.
- They add their own mobile number.
- They check an explicit consent box — “I agree to receive automated text messages from Relay Logics at this number about incidents” — shown together with message-frequency, “message and data rates may apply,” and STOP/HELP disclosures. The date and time of this consent is recorded.
- Relay Logics texts a 6-digit verification code to that number; the user must enter it to confirm ownership. Unverified numbers never receive any messages.
- The user then chooses, in their own notification rules, whether and when SMS is used at all (for example: “text me only for critical incidents on weeknights”).
Nobody can be subscribed by a third party — the verification code makes consent self-service by construction.
The opt-in form
This is the dashboard form (Settings → Contact methods) where a user adds their own number, gives the consent above, and receives the verification code:
How people opt out
- Reply STOP to any Relay Logics message to stop all SMS immediately (standard carrier keywords — STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL — are honored automatically). Reply HELP for assistance.
- Remove the phone number, or disable SMS actions in notification rules, at any time in the dashboard.
